We were able to bring Clara home after too long in the hospital. She started to eat well and gain weight all of a sudden, just like the doctor said they often do. So, on the 12th, we packed up all the clutter that had accumulated in the hospital and took off. (Well, I was checking on a patient that had been admitted the night before and got hung up. So, Kimberly had one of the nurses help her down to the car to leave.)
It has been nice to have them home. It has been difficult to work out the feeding schedules and sleeping schedules. We don't get much sleep, especially Kimberly. It was hard with one, but two is offering it's own kind of challenges. One more diaper, one more bottle, one more binky, etc. Nevertheless, we wouldn't have it any other way. We love having them home.
Charlie is a wonderful big brother. He will gently pat them, I mean really gently, and say, "I'm being gentle and kind." He loves to give them the softest kisses on their little heads. He gets us things that we need to take care of them. He is very attentive and thoughtful, as you can see in the pictures. He will ask to hold them and is very soft. It only lasts for a few seconds right now, but he'll probably warm up to them more as they get less delicate. Oh, yeah, and Charlie always likes to put his Thomas chair on top of the big chairs.
In other news, we are waiting to hear whether we are going to get this house or not. We have an offer in on a home in American Fork. It is a nice, small home. A good starter. It has some nice features. Best of all, it is not an apartment. However, we got the appraisal back and it came in at $13,000 less than the final offer we agreed on. This is good news for us, but only if the sellers agree to it. They were pretty tough in bargaining initially, and our realtor told us that they are unlikely to budge if it stays at that price. The only way they might still sell is if the comparable homes they sent to the appraiser bring the overall appraisal up. Otherwise, it sounds like they won't sell and we'll be out of luck. So, we're hoping this all works out. If not, we may be staying in Riverton for a little while. (That is, if the apartment lets us take back our 30-day notice and haven't found someone to take our lease.) Ugh, so much uncertainty. But, we're just happy to have the girls around.
